Description
Weldy HT3400 – When Standard Heat Guns Aren’t Enough
Some jobs simply need more heat than a 1600 W tool can deliver. The Weldy HT3400 answers with a 3400 W output — more than double the power of standard hot air hand tools — pushed through a wide 50 mm nozzle at 320 l/min. The result is rapid, even heating over large areas, which is why fabricators and industrial workshops choose it for heavy shrink-wrapping, thermoforming, bending thick plastic sheet, and fast drying work.
Temperature is infinitely adjustable from 40°C to 650°C, and the ceramic heating element with robust brush motor keeps output stable through long duty cycles. Despite the power, the HT3400 weighs only 1.3 kg with the same ergonomic handle design as its smaller siblings — so operators moving from the HT1600 hot air hand tool will feel immediately at home. It runs on 230 V, CE marked, Protection Class II.
What the Extra Power Gets You
- 3400 W heat output — covers large surfaces in a fraction of the time
- 50 mm nozzle diameter — wide, even airflow for shrinking and drying
- 320 l/min air volume — strong flow for automotive and industrial tasks
- Infinitely variable 40–650°C — from gentle drying to aggressive shrinking
- Dust filter — motor protection in harsh workshop and site environments
Typical Applications
Typical applications include automotive shrink work on protective films, heat shrinking of packaging and cable assemblies, bending acrylic and PE sheet, workshop heating tasks, and accelerated drying in industrial maintenance. An accessory kit with reduction and reflector nozzles is available — see current options in our product shop or check our equipment price guides for indicative costs.
Positioning It Correctly
The HT3400 is a heating and shrinking specialist rather than a seam welder. For geomembrane lining projects, production seams belong to a dedicated wedge welder for HDPE liners like the WGW 300, detail repairs to the HT1600 D digital hot air gun, and thick-section joints to an extrusion welder such as the EX3. Many of our contractor customers keep an HT3400 on site purely for pre-heating and drying liner surfaces in cooler months — a small addition that noticeably improves weld quality.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Weldy HT3400 mainly used for?
Large-scale heat shrinking, bending, heating and drying — automotive film work, packaging, sheet forming and industrial maintenance. It’s a high-output heating tool rather than a precision welder.
Can the HT3400 be used on geomembrane sites?
Yes, mainly for pre-heating, drying seam areas, and shrinking applications. For actual seam welding, use a hot wedge machine or a 1600 W-class hand tool with speed nozzles.
How does 3400 W compare to a standard heat gun in practice?
Roughly twice the heated air delivery — jobs like shrinking a pallet wrap or heating thick PE sheet take half the time or less.
What voltage does the HT3400 require?
230 V only, with 3400 W maximum power draw. Ensure your generator or supply circuit is rated accordingly on remote sites.
Is an accessory kit available?
Yes, a kit with additional nozzles for shrinking and surface heating ships in a practical carry case.
